  1. I need to get some transmission repair done to my Ford Ranger and soon. It's been really annoying not having my car to drive to work and back every day. I will definitely be alert for any shops that don't have my best interests at heart. Thanks for the warning!

  2. How often should you take your car in for transmission maintenance in Calgary? I've never had any problems but should I be going in to have it checked before there are problems?

    1. When your transmission seems to be falling short, you can either change it totally or fix it. In order to conserve cash, you may receive the transmission rebuilt by a professional and experienced mechanic. You could obtain it done at a low cost and the down time will likewise be short. If your transmission is irreparable, you can always get a rebuilt transmission body.

  19. Thanks for the great information, and I don't know if this is a commonly asked question or not. But I've been doing research on transmissions, and I was wondering if it would be better to do a transmission rebuild or to just get a new transmission? Because I think that a rebuild would be better because it can help with the learning experience.

  25. Usually my husband tends to minor repairs when it comes to my car, however, the transmission isn't something he has handled before. He's been trying to find tutorials online, but honestly, I think I might want to take it to a professional instead. I am definitely nervous about getting hidden charges though, or getting charged more than the original quote. I will have to get a quote in person, after the mechanic has had a chance to look at it first!

  27. I agree with this article that it is important to be alert when ordering a new transmission. It's important to find a transmission shop that is trustworthy and well reviewed. Also, it would be good to compare the costs between different shops and their reputation to make the best decision.

  29. Thanks for putting this together! I know you definitely don't want to take a serious issue like a transmission repair to an untrustworthy garage. That's not the kind of problem that you can afford to have worsen! Fortunately, my brother works at a garage, and he know what to look for. 30. I completely agree. Too many people trust the "professional" label of a place and don't bother to do their own research. A little searching online will quickly help you find the best place to take your car. Taking the lazy way out is a good way to waste money.

  31. My cars transmission has started doing something weird. When I am in a gear I hear it just grind and it makes a really loud clicking noise. I really nervous that I'll be driving it and it will brake down. Hopefully I can get it looked at. http://www.wsautomatics.com.au/services-automatic_transmission_overhauls_repairs_brisbane.php

  32. Customers ask us this all the time "We've been noticing some grinding and we think it's our transmission. What can we do in this case? Maybe it would be a better idea to get our transmission repaired than to get a whole new part?" We tell them to bring it in for a free inspection. Usually it can be repaired without replacing. We then gain a customer for life. http://ptransmissions.com

  33. You need to be very careful when picking auto repair shops. While a lot of them are good, honest companies some can be a bit shady. That's why I always check online reviews before taking my car in to get looked at. Also, ask your friends for recommendations!
